Homemade #5 – Ice cream

Ice Cream

Summer is just around the corner in the northern hemisphere and that means that it is time to start looking for cold and frozen treat recipes. Actually, in the What’s cooking? household we don’t need an excuse to eat ice cream. Even if it is -20 degrees outside, we still like our ice cream. But not everybody is as crazy as us, that’s why we decided to make this month’s Homemade challenge all about this delicious treat.

You don’t need an ice cream machine to make delicious ice cream, you can still make gelatos, sorbets and other frozen treats without one. There are a lot of recipes online and I’ll try to post links to them the whole month on this topic of the forum. So get your thinking cap on for this month’s challenge! I bet it is going to be a lot of fun.

Here are the simple rules of the challenge:

  • If you are a blogger: Make any delicious frozen treat at home, take pictures of it and blog about it. Include a link to this topic of the forum on your post. Leave the permalink to that post on that same topic and I’ll include it in the roundup in July. Feel free to use the banner of the event.
  • If you are not a blogger: Follow the steps above, but leave your pictures and recipes in said topic.
  • The deadline is June 30th.

That’s it. I hope to see you all there sharing your delicious ice cream recipes!

¡Buen provecho!

I love that picture with the two colors. That’s a great challenge. Never made ice cream before.

That’s one gorgeous picture, Ben! I have a birthday coming up, and I’m hoping to be gifted with the KA ice cream attachment. :)

Wow, that picture is so beautiful and love the opposite colours in the two glasses, like a reflection. Count me in Ben. I am tempted to go and buy an ice cream machine but if I do, I know that I will not stop making ice creams….

What a great challenge Ben. I had so wanted to participate in the last tortilla challenge but have simply been too busy to do much cooking at all. I hope I can make time to create some icecream. I don’t have an icecream machine (yet), so I’ll be interested to see how I can make icecream without it!
