Do you have to go to an expensive gym with complicated equipment to get fit? The answer is NO. Although I enjoy going to the gym (it keeps me motivated and I can challenge myself more easily) that’s not the only place where I like to work out. For several months I couldn’t afford a gym membership, but that didn’t stop me from working out. With just some simple equipment you can have complete routines that will workout your whole body.
For me the secret to stay motivated when working out at home is to keep it simple and fun. That’s why I want to share with you some of the exercises and equipment that I use for my home routines. First, there is the jumping rope. Add a little bit of imagination (and why not music) and you’ll have a great cardio exercise:
Then come the dumbbells. You can get some cheap ones at the store or online. They are great to work out any part of your body:
My favorite workout-at-home piece of equipment is my Swiss ball. I only paid about 15 dollars for it and it is great to exercise any part of your body and a lot of fun. Just trying to keep the balance while using it is a great exercise for your core:
And why not add some more fun and rhythm to your workout?:
These are just some of the many exercises that I like to do at home. Like I said before, just keep it simple and fun. Working out doesn’t have to be a painful and boring experience. The more fun you have, the better you will look in your bathing suit this summer, right?

Ben,
I go to a zumba class 3x a week. It’s a great and fun workout. Aerobic to salsa! I’m sure there are tapes available.

I usually prefer going to the gym because classes are a great motivator, but my budget isn’t up for that right now, so these are great tips to working out at home!
