I can’t believe it has been almost a week since the last time I posted anything on this blog. I have spent the last several days trying to fix technical problems on this blog. One thing I can say right now is that I am not happy at all with my hosting service company. I was happy with them until this very crappy experience. I really don’t want to go through anything like that again so I might be changing services soon.

Anyway, I thought this experience was the perfect opportunity to change the blog around a little bit. I am still working on it so somethings might look funky, but I hope to finish this little big project today. I just wanted to share this amazing dinner I had the other night. I found some guavas at the Mexican market last week and I bought several pounds. Guavas are my favorite winter fruit and I hadn’t had one in many years:

Aren’t they beautiful? I really missed them. I love them so much I could eat them raw. In fact, I ate almost half of them raw. The other half I used them for empanadas and a spicy guava sauce for pork chops. The recipe is very simple. I only replaced the pears from this recipe for guavas, added 1 TBSP of honey and served them over grilled pork chops. It was a very simple recipe that blended the sweet and spicy in a delicious sauce. If you can find guavas were you live. I really recommend you try them! I am sorry if this post is kinda short, but I really want to get this thing finish today. I will post more guava stuff soon.

¡Buen provecho!

Wow, the layout looks really nice! The color and lines are sleeker. I think the page loads a bit quicker, too. I hope the hosting troubles end soon, Ben.

Excellent sauce. What I enjoy the most about your recipes is how you easily incorporate fruit into entrees, especially those served alongside meat.

Love the new blog design amigo! As for the hosting company, you and I use the same people. Let me guess. some spammers broke into your backend and redirected your site to their spammy web page. Happened to me 5 times! But I got them! If you want to talk more about this email me.

As for the guavas I think you’ve done a great job with that sauce and pairing it with the pork chops.

Whoa Big Ben, I dig the new layout dude. I’m not a decorator, but I can dress myself most days, and I know if colors can go together. This looks sharper than Great White Shark teeth.

Here’s a deep dark secret. I don’t think I’ve had a guava before. I know. I know. I mean they just don’t grow in NY. Maybe I’ll have to head to OH and you can educate me some :)

I haven’t tried guava before, don’t get too much tropical fruit in my Canadian town – besides bananas, pineapples, citrus, etc.
The chops look great, I love fruit and chilies together.

This looks wonderful! I’m not hugely familiar with guava – I’ve had it once or twice, but I don’t think I’ve done much with it myself. I’ll have to keep an eye out for it!

The new look, the layout, and the photos look amazing. You really put a lot of hard work in here. Hope the tech stuff gets straight. But I like this layout more. Easier to navigate. And this dish is calling my name. I like when people do other things with chops besides fry them.

Oh, how I miss guavas. We get them in South Africa. Although we get a whole range of imported fruits from all over the world here in the UK, I haven’t seen a guava ONCE. Such a shame. You’re recipe looks delicious.
