I love baking, now a monthly event

Posted by Ben On September - 22 - 2008 Under News

Don’t you hate technology sometimes? I hate it almost every day, LOL, because it always fails when you need it most, right? This weekend I was trying to install a Linux OS on my computer (Vista was giving me too much crap), but my computer didn’t like it. It stopped in the middle of the installation and there was nothing I could do to convice it to finish it. Of course I lost everything (I was going for a dual boot because I wanted to be able to play my computer games) and I spent the weekend fixing it and reinstalling every program back. The only good thing was that I got rid of Vista (which I believe was the problem to start with) and rolled back to XP. If I could ask Bill Gates one question that would be, are you ever going to come out with something that works?

Anyway, today is the 22nd which means another month for I love baking event has come to a close. This time we only had 2 participants :( and for that reason I am making some changes to the format of the event. Instead of a bi-weekly roundup with a monthly voting poll, it will be a monthly roundup and poll. Trust me, even I was getting confused. Remember that the only rule is that your entry has to be baked at some point of its preparation, that’s it, and you can win prizes for it! This month we’ll have cookbooks to give away and you will be able to choose the ones you want. I still need to go through the list, but I will post it as soon as I get it.

So here are the entries for the past 2 weeks. You can vote for your favorite sweet entry here, and for your favorite savory entry here.

Stephanie baked Yellow summer squash pie

Cinnamon Spice baked Chai-spiced banana and fig muffins.

The only way Microsoft will ever make something where Version 1 doesn’t suck is if they try to build a vacuum cleaner.

Both recipes look great. It’s difficult to choose which one to vote.

  6. Adam Said,

Sorry to hear about the computer stuff… I just got done doing pretty much the same thing :) I actually think I’d like the monthly event more, it’ll be bigger and easier to manage (and I’d remember it’s deadline easier)

  9. Vicki Said,

I’m convinced that Windows Vista is a virus. I wish I knew enough to roll back to XP, at least it worked most of the time :)

  12. Bellini Valli Said,

I bought my new computer about a year ago which standardly came with Vista. For $45 extra I had XP installed instead as my computer guy suggested. Probably the best investment of money ever!!!!
