All over the blog-o-sphere people celebrate their blogs’ anniversaries, but I am not really sure when to celebrate my blog’s. Let me explain. My very first post was back on April 7th, 2007. Back then I was really scared about food blogging and my life took a sharp turn so I really didn’t start seriousbly blogging until September. That’s why I don’t want to claim that I’ve been blogging longer than a year.
But September sounds like a good month, doesn’t it? I’ve always liked this month. It was when the year seem to start when I was kid, new grade or school, new friends, new books (yes, I was a weird kid. I liked going back to school) So why not celebrate What’s cooking? blogaversary in September. It is official then. This blog is one year old!
In another different topic, we have the very first two I love baking winners! It was a very exciting competition filled with delicious entries. In the savory category, Reeni won with her entry Mac and cheese and in the sweet category Ivy won with her Cranberry lemon cupcakes. Congratulations! Remember that there are prizes for the winners.
But the fun is just starting. Every two weeks I’ll post a roundup and every month we’ll have 2 winners, one for each category. And the best part is that participation is a piece of cake. The only rule is that your entry has to be baked. So go to the forum and start posting those entries

And my final topic tonight, maybe you noticed the green, white and red ribbon on the left upper corner of the blog. It has two meanings. In Mexico September is el mes de la patria (month of the country) since we celebrate our independence the 16th. But I mainly created the image to join my voice to the millions of Mexicans’ who are crying against crime. I am not going to talk much about this topic here because this is a food blog, but if you want to know more about it you can read a story about this movement here (and in the future I will write more about it on my other blog)

¡Buen provecho!

Hey Ben, I don’t believe it. Wow first of all Happy Blogoversary!! I also posted my blogoversary this morning. Like you, I did start in July but as I started posting in Greek and translating the recipe in English, I decided later on, to make two separate blogs one in English and one in Greek. They second wow is that I am so thrilled that I was the winner of the first prize and I want to say thank you to all my friends who voted for me. I am hosting an event which calls for baking so you will hear from me again.
