Join the Great Cooks Blogroll. Wait a minute, what is a blogroll?

Let’s talk a little bit about blogging. When you start blogging your blog is just one little dot among millions. The blogosphere can be a big and scary place for new bloggers (it was for me) There are millions of people surfing the net but your blog seems to be invisible. Despair takes over. But one day you find that somebody found your blog, read it, liked it and left a comment! A COMMENT! Hope resurges. Suddenly the world doesn’t seem like such a bad place after all. Happily you respond that comment and visit your commenter’s blog.

You read the most recent entry and feel like your newly discovered perfect world is not very perfect. Your visitor’s entries are pieces of art with beautiful pictures and great recipes that you have never heard of. Shyly you click on the “Leave a comment” link and there is a big BOOM inside your head. Your new friend receives dozens of comments telling him/her how great he/she is. You feel despaired again. You think that it will be impossible to be like that new hero of yours. What do you do? Give up? NO!

You overcome your shyness, write a very nice comment thanking him/her for his/her visit and praise the good work. You learn from that person. You read his/her blog and find out that that blogger is just another nice human being like yourself. You like your new friend so much that you want to let other people know he/she exists. So you ask the big question: (or maybe you just go right ahead and do it without asking, there are no rules) Mr or Mrs nice blogger, may I add a link to your blog from my blog. And a blogroll has been born.

I don’t know if every blogger goes thru that process, but that’s what happened to me. I was scared and felt lonely, but then I found such wonderful people on the blogosphere that when I visit their blogs, or they visit mine, I feel like I’m among friends, because that’s what many of them have become. I have learned so much from them and I like so much the work they do that the least I can do is dedicate a space on my blog to them.

When you join their blogrolls you join a community of great food bloggers. Your blog gets to be introduced to the world and, best of all, you meet amazing people.
